Laurent Abadie was appointed chairman and chief executive of Panasonic Europe in April 2009. A French citizen, he was the first non-Japanese director to take the role. Abadie joined Panasonic France as managing director in 2004.
Peter Bakker became chief executive of Dutch international logistics and delivery services company TNT in 2001. He joined the company 10 years earlier, rising to financial control director in 1996 and chief financial officer in 1998. He has a degree in economics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
Neil Carson has spent three decades at the UK chemicals firm Johnson Matthey. After senior management positions in both Britain and the US, he joined the company’s board in 2002 as head of its precious metals division. He became chief executive two years later.
