Leading figures from Centrica, Visa and Edelman meet in London on the 8th of May 2012 to discuss the importance of trust in business, as part of Ethical Corporation’s 11th Responsible Business Summit

London 30/04/12

“Business is now better placed than government to lead the way out of the trust crisis”, said the Edelman CEO.

Despite this optimistic statement, the Edelman Trust Barometer 2012 also shows that CEOs’ level of credibility has actually gone through the biggest decline in the barometer’s history (a 12% drop since 2011).

How do businesses quantify trust – and restore it?

Edelman’s President and CEO EMEA will share a panel on the topic with Visa Europe’s Corporate Communications Senior Vice President and Centrica’s Corporate Responsibility Strategy Group Director on the 8th of May.

Topics discussed will include:

  • How to put trust on the boardroom agenda, and what to say to senior executives when it’s there
  • The steps to take in building it – and sustaining it in difficult times
  • How to move beyond measurement and build trust enhancement into long term business planning
  • How to measure trust and gain more of it

This is one of many sessions taking place during this year’s Responsible Business Summit (8-9th May, London).

Other topics covered include how to embed CSR across the business, how to engage employees, using sustainability to build brand reputation and engaging consumers in behaviour change.
