November 20 in London Ethical Corporation will welcome Hermann Mulder, GRI chairman, to the 6th Annual CR Reporting and Communications Summit

London 07/11/12

Your all aware G4 is looming on the horizon but what will it mean for your companys sustsinabilty reporting?

At our upcoming CR Reporting and Communications Summit we have a Q&A with Hermann Mulder will get to the heart of what really matters in G4 and how it will affect actual implementation of the reports process.

GRI has provided a strong framework for CSR reports yet one of its weaknesses continues to be the many guidelines in place and the wide reaching but unfocused reports that result.

A prime example is the BP Gulf of Mexico disaster. BP ticked the all the required boxes and produced “an excellent GRI report, but the report did not address the organisational and managerial challenges that appear to have contributed to the oil spill.

Using Hermann's expertise as a senior board member we will debate whether G4 will prove to be a help or hindrance. Establishing whether G4 will simply add more paperwork and increase regulatory burden or provide the clarity and clear framework required for better CSR reports.

We will also go in depth into how G4 aims to create better focused reports and address previously neglected issues such as management approach, supply chain issues and the links between intentions and actual behaviour.
