Graham Earnshaw discusses with Paul French the state of the Chinese countryside and the problems with urbanisation

In Shanghai, Ethical Corporation's China Editor Paul French meets with Graham Earnshaw, a former journalist, serial entrepreneur, charity founder and author, who has just walked from Shanghai to Tibet.

Graham discusses his journey and book (The Great Walk of China: Travels on Foot From Shanghai to Tibet) and in particular the state of the Chinese countryside, the problems with urbanisation in China, the continued migrations of rural dwellers to the factories of the coast and what this means for those left behind in China's dwindling villages.

Graham also talks about his own charity that raises money to provide books for children in poor rural areas of China and how charities can make a difference in the Chinese countryside.
