Applications are open for two Master's-level programmes delivered and accredited by the University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (CPSL) has a 25-year history of engaging individuals, businesses, governments, and civil society, and enabling them to build their capacity to bring about positive change for sustainability.

Two of the programmes in greatest demand, and which are frequently over-subscribed, are the Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership (MSt) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (PCSB).

The MSt runs part-time over two years in a format designed to accommodate individuals in full-time employment who need not be based in the UK.

This interdisciplinary programme is offered in association with the Departments of Architecture, Engineering, Geography, Land Economy and the Judge Business School. It includes residential workshops, virtual learning and considerable opportunity for peer-to-peer networking.

For their assessment, students undertake work-based assignments and explore a topic of interest via supervised research, which is presented in a 15,000 word dissertation.

The PCSB is an accredited Master's-level programme that runs part-time over an eight-month period. PCSB, which engages mainstream senior and mid-career managers, is specifically designed to go beyond theoretical learning and to build participants’ capacity to integrate sustainability thinking into business strategy and actions.

Assessment is through two 3,000 word essays (an analysis paper and a strategic action plan) and a 7,000 word group research project. The programme balances theory and practice, being taught by both scholars and members of CPSL’s extensive network of leading business practitioners. It draws on the University of Cambridge’s sustainability research, with an emphasis on collaborative learning and peer-networking.
