Job Description:

The Consumer Goods Forum | GFSI

Acre is working with The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), a global network that allies consumer goods manufacturers and retailers in their pursuit of better business practices. CGF brings together 400 retailers in 70 countries with its members employing an estimated 100 million people along the value chain.

CGF are looking to appoint a Senior Technical Manager for the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), who will be responsible for the management of several food safety work streams within GFSI as well as the associated communication to key stakeholders. You will also be responsible for the management of the GFSI Benchmarking Process working with consultants.

Reporting to the Director of the GFSI, this is a full time permanent position, based in the CGF headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Paris).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Running several Technical Working Group projects (e.g. on auditor competence, capacity building, supply chain best practice) which are formed to deliver on a mandate set by the GFSI Board of Directors alongside those managed by the Head of GFSI

  • Preparing project briefs and helping to identify and involve relevant stakeholders in each work stream

  • Planning webinars and conference calls between meetings to ensure contribution from Technical Working Group members on each work stream

  • Managing the GFSI requirement document revision with multi stakeholder groups

  • Recruiting and overseeing the training of benchmark committee members

  • Ensuring that each benchmark is appropriately tracked and each step is being completed in a timely manner

The successful candidate will work primarily in English; however knowledge of French is an advantage when dealing with internal colleagues.

In addition you will have:

  • Working experience in food safety, auditing or certification in an international environment

  • Project management skills

  • Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including companies, standard bodies, international organisations and governments

  • General understanding of business on an international level and an interest in food safety

  • A degree (or of equivalent educational standard)

  • A strong team leader, able to coordinate other resources and prevent and solve conflicts

  • Meticulous organisational skills, rigorous, an eye for detail and someone who meets deadlines
