UTZ is headquartered in Amsterdam and works closely with its partner network in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We are looking to hire a: Project Manager

As project manager you will be responsible for the realization of a new traceability system for the UTZ Hazelnut certification program. At UTZ we currently work with a traceability system called the Good Inside Portal (GIP), which is one of the core aspects of our certification programs. We want to create a new and improved traceability system for our Hazelnut program with the core functionalities: member registration, licensing and supply chain transactions. Both internal stakeholders and external organizations will use the system. Hazelnut will be the first commodity, serving as a model for the other commodities.

UTZ is looking for an experienced project manager, with excellent organizational skills and a can-do attitude. You need to oversee the entire project from A to Z, using your experience with participative value stream mapping and business architecture. You define requirements with the business stakeholders and design, execute and implement the system in close cooperation with the UTZ Technology department. On a daily basis you will use your social and networking skills to get things done within the organization and create effective cooperation for this cross departmental project. You are familiar with IT related projects and an agile way of working and are able to prioritize and translate the organization’s needs into requirements for the system. You will become part of the UTZ product management team and report to the Head of Product Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the realization of the new traceability system for hazelnut (technical side will be managed by IT counterpart);

  • Project planning and management of the project from A to Z;

  • Ensuring on-time on-cost delivery in close cooperation with UTZ technology team;

  • Coordination and alignment of priorities with UTZ colleagues;

  • Be the product owner and ensure that the technology department and business service owners are fully connected using lean and scrum knowledge;

  • Resolve or escalate internal blockages and bottlenecks.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Academic education and working level;

  • Minimal 5 years of relevant work experience;

  • Strong Agile project management skills;  

  • Analytical, able to quickly gain overview and insight;

  • Networker and connector with pro-active attitude and organizational sensitivity;  

  • Fluency in verbal and written English;

  • Experience with value stream mapping in IT context;

  • Knowledge of and experience in sustainability sector and/ or hazelnut supply chain are considered a major asset.

Employment is based upon 32 - 40 hours / week. The position will be based in Amsterdam and open to applicants of all nationalities. However, we can only consider candidates who have, may get or do not need a Dutch work and residency permit.
