Job Description:

A CHANCE TO DEVELOP SOLUTIONS

The Danish Institute for Human Rights works internationally to promote human rights-based approaches to business and sustainable development. We are particularly interested in using human rights to ensure that business and private finance contribute effectively to sustainable development towards 2030. And we need your help to do so.

You will be part of an international team of experts based in Copenhagen, working across the intersections of human rights, business and sustainable development. Your role will be to work directly with leading multinational companies and investors on human rights and sustainability, and influence international policy discussions on the role of business and private finance in sustainable development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are someone who knows human rights, enjoys working with companies, and understands the role of private finance in sustainable development. You have a track record of hands-on work with corporate actors on responsible business; you have been involved in analysis and policy discussions on private finance for development and know the actors involved; and you have experience with international advocacy and development cooperation. You are able to combine practice, policy, and research and you understand the mandate and role of a National Human Rights Institution.

As a colleague, you are someone who puts the team first and believes work should be fun. You are able to define and follow a strategy and prioritise your time in a rapidly evolving field. You enjoy travelling and developing professional networks. You understand that administration is part of the job. You have excellent command of English and ideally you speak an additional major language.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is full-time based in Copenhagen with significant international travel. Salary and other conditions are set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, as applicable.
