Job Description:

Forum for the Future is looking for a dynamic individual to work with a small, growing team in Singapore to help businesses on their journey towards social and environmental sustainability.

About Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future is a non-profit organisation working globally with business and government to create a sustainable future. We aim to transform the critical systems that we all depend on, such as food, energy and finance, to make them fit for the challenges of the 21st century. We have nearly 20 years’ experience of inspiring new thinking, building creative partnerships, and developing practical innovations to change our world.

The Forum has been working on ambitious projects with leading businesses in Asia Pacific for several years and opened a permanent office in Singapore in November 2013. In February 2015, Forum launched the Futures Centre, a major new digital platform, which aims to be a powerful tool for decision makers to track trends, share resources and identify opportunities for sustainable innovation and collaboration. Our primary work is to help individual businesses on their sustainability journey, using lots of futures and innovation approaches and to bring together cross sector collaborations to tackle specific challenges.

What will the Principal Sustainability Advisor do?

The Principal Sustainability Advisor will play a senior role in the core Asia Pacific team. The role will deliver expert sustainability advice to the companies that Forum works with – helping them be prepared for a better future and creating innovative products and services that combine sustainability and success. They will manage a small group of relationships and help grow our Asia Pacific operations through bringing in new partners and projects. They will provide expertise in one or two areas of our strategy and develop, design and deliver cross sector collaborations in their key areas.

The successful candidate will need experience of advising business on environment and social issues - skills in the key approaches we use like future scenarios, business strategy and innovation are particularly sought after. They will bring good knowledge of the region. Ideally they will have some experience of designing and delivering bigger cross sector collaborations and bring specialist expertise in at least one key area like food, energy and/or the supply chain.
