Job Description:

The ZDHC | Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals

Acre has been engaged by The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Programme to hire a dynamic Membership Operations Manager.

ZDHC was founded in 2011 by a committed group of global companies from the apparel and footwear industries. Their goal is to reduce and eliminate the release of dangerous chemicals during the product lifecycle which will result in a new standard of environmental performance in the apparel and footwear industry.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Membership Operations Manager will be the backbone to the organisation and integral to the success of the programme. Responsibilities include:

Managing relationships and communications with multiple stakeholders

  • Leading and managing internal and external communication plans
  • Supporting the Executive Director in writing, drafting and compiling presentations
  • Raising the global profile of the ZDHC through thought leadership, targeted articles in relevant press and representation at related conferences and forums
  • Leading the events management of ZDHC stakeholder events and webinars
  • Developing opportunities to collaborate on ad hoc stakeholder outputs

The successful candidate will have a personal interest in global supply chain issues. You will have experience of developing and managing the operations of an organisation, be excited at the thought of working in a start-up type environment and be able to quickly forge and maintain excellent working relationships.

  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • A good eye for detail and a thorough approach
  • A critical thinker with initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals in all departments at all levels
  • An understanding of the external landscape of Multi Stakeholder Initiatives, particularly the ZDHC (desirable)
  • Experience of managing stakeholder relationships and handling stakeholder negotiations (highly desirable)
