Established in 2010, SCOPEinsight is the leading provider of assessment and analysis tools that measure the level of professionalism of farmers, giving our clients and partners the business intelligence to create opportunities in agriculture. Since inception SCOPEinsight has grown exponentially. This year alone our number of assessments increased by 600%, making us the partner of choice to help our clients make better informed decisions when engaging with farmer organizations. To facilitate our growth, we are looking for a professional and experienced: Marketing and Communication Officer (Full time, based in Utrecht, the Netherlands)

SCOPEinsight provides smart assessment tools that measure and score the professionalism of farmer organizations in emerging economies. The assessments lead to business intelligence, which can be used to segment farmer organizations on their organizational performance and analyse or benchmark their results. In the past six years, we have conducted over 850 assessments in 20 countries spanning more than 40 agricultural sectors, reaching over 1.5 million smallholder farmers worldwide. In order to actually aim to transform the market, we will need to scale up to much higher levels.

SCOPEinsight builds partnerships with stakeholders, jointly developing new projects and programmes that are built on a common vision and that incorporate the SCOPE tools as a measuring instrument.

The assessment data increase transparency in the agricultural market, lowers investment risks and costs and increases business opportunities for stakeholders in and around the agricultural value chain.

It is for this business development process that SCOPEinsight is looking for a Marketing and Communications officer.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Officer is primarily responsible for a clear and unique positioning of the SCOPEinsight brand. You will prepare an actionable Marketing Strategy, with clear targets and outcomes. This can include preparing and writing marketing materials, such as newsletters, presentations, brochures – liaising with partners where necessary.

You will develop and maintain an inviting website, attracting substantial traffic for SCOPEinsight relevant target groups. You will maintain customer information, public relations and media contacts.

You will work with a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, in close cooperation with the Business Development team. This CRM system will support the smooth implementation of the Marketing Strategy and allow for a more targeted communication strategy. You will also, building on international partnerships, act as an account manager in supporting clients to implement the SCOPE tools in their strategy, which will provide them with the intelligence to become more successful.

You will set up a thought leadership plan which involves generating high quality content for the website, social media, external blogs, webinars, events, etc. in an effort to position SCOPEinsight as the leading provider of business intelligence and data analysis in agriculture.

You will make sure that SCOPEinsight’s mission and vision are understood both internally and externally and staff will live and breathe the brand.

You will be supportive to the management in optimising results and advising on how to achieve the ambitious growth path. You will also support the reporting of different projects and programmes, where necessary.

  • Excellent skills in different software packages such as Office, especially PowerPoint,  Client Relationship Management and Content Management System tools and Online Marketing Software (i.e. Mailchimp, Constant Contact) Knowledge of the power of social media

  • Experience in international businesses is a pre

  • Excellent knowledge and use of the Dutch and English language. Other languages such as French and Spanish are a plus.
