About us

Bath Spa University’s vision is to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. With innovative teaching and learning, focussed research excellence and state-of-the-art facilities, we put our students at the very centre of all we do.

The twenty-first century world faces many challenges and some extraordinary opportunities, including climate change adaptation, digital connectivity and reimagining capitalism. This is a century for innovation, creativity and fresh design: thinking beyond business as usual.

The School of Society, Enterprise and Environment (SEE) delivers a range of pre-sessional, undergraduate and postgraduate courses including programmes in business and management. Over the last few years we have considerably increased our domestic and international student numbers and over the next few years we will be continuing to increase our programmes at all levels, including offering an innovative new MBA and public seminars. We are also starting a PhD programme and developing our research capacity.

The School of SEE is a signatory to PRME - the Principles for Responsible Management Education.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a programme leader for our graduate programmes – an MA and a new MBA, to enhance expertise in the team and to develop the curriculum in both postgraduate and undergraduate provision. As well as teaching core theory and practice necessary for successful careers in business and management in all sectors, we will be increasing our teaching in sustainable enterprise, responsible leadership, systems thinking, innovation and design.

The post holder will lead the taught graduate programmes in business, management and sustainable enterprise and contribute to teaching their specialism. She/he will be responsible for the design, delivery and marketing of postgraduate courses in business and management, and for managing and arranging support for international students on postgraduate courses. She/he will also provide academic leadership to colleagues involved in the delivery of PG programmes as well as identify opportunities for strategic development of new courses or appropriate areas of activity and contribute to the development of such ideas.

In addition the post holder will work closely alongside the Head of the department of business and management, to develop international initiatives and contribute to School research ambitions by seeking bids for funding and scholarly activity in support of the university’s research strategy.

Relocation may be available to candidates that qualify under the relocation policy.

About you (requirements)

With a PhD and ideally a strong research record in a relevant discipline, you will have a proven track record of successfully designing and/or delivering graduate degree courses within Higher Education. An effective leader with proven management skills, you will also have the ability to combine strategic thinking and operational management alongside extensive knowledge and professional experience in your own area or specialism. Recent experience of successful working with international students is essential.

We would particularly welcome applicants from BME and female candidates.
