Acre has been engaged by Investec Asset Management to recruit an ESG Analyst to focus on supporting the Private Equity, Infrastructure, Credit and Listed Equity teams.

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join a collaborative ESG team, responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of due diligence assessments by environmental consultants for high risk investments to IFC Performance Standards, along with annual monitoring and reporting
  • Working with investment teams to further advance ESG value creation and risk mitigation
  • Analysing corporate Credit transactions to IFC Performance Standards and devise engagement and monitoring plans
  • Performing listed equity ESG research and engagement, including proxy voting and corporate governance
  • Integrating ESG research into investment processes across all asset classes
  • Assisting with reporting and policy development
  • Contributing to strategic ESG industry initiatives and consultations

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance issues along with:

  • Experience of either conducting or overseeing, environmental due diligence, audit and impact assessments to IFC Performance Standards across a range of sectors
  • A good understanding of capital markets and the investment management industry
  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • A degree or masters degree in a related field such as international relations, law, economics, environmental/social sciences
  • Experience of private equity or project finance is highly beneficial, as is experience of emerging markets, particularly Africa.
