Job Description:

If you are an experienced international educational development professional and have a passion for making a lasting difference for women, children and adolescents, UNICEF wants to hear from you! UNICEF is currently recruiting Education Specialists and Chiefs of Education for its P-4 level Talent Group.

What are Talent Groups?

Talent Groups at UNICEF are exclusive lists of pre-vetted, highly qualified professionals intended to fast-track the recruitment process as positions become available. After a rigorous selection process, successful candidates who apply will be placed in a Talent Group at the P-4 level. While placement in a Talent Group does not guarantee a position with UNICEF, candidates in a Talent Group may be considered for P-4 level vacancies as they become available at UNICEF in Country or Regional Offices or Headquarters locations.

UNICEF has recently adopted its 2014-2017 Strategic Plan, which includes four key priorities for education: learning outcomes, early learning, equity, and education in emergencies. In order to implement the Strategic Plan, UNICEF is enhancing its expertise at Country, Regional and Headquarters levels. As such, UNICEF plans to staff Education Specialist (P-4 level) and Chief of Education (P-4 level) posts with candidates from the P-4 Talent Group.

The P-4 Chief of Education/Education Specialist is accountable for the development, design, planning, implementation and management of the Education programme within their area of responsibility, in collaboration with other programmes and sectors, governments, and other key partners. In addition, if the position is a P-4 Chief of Education, s/he leads a group of professional and support staff to develop and manage the Education programme in that specific Country Office.
