Job Description:

Acre is working with the Principles for Responsible Investment, an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact. Launched by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the PRI is a set of voluntary best practice principles to assist investors in integrating environmental, social and corporate governance issues into investment processes and ownership practices.

The UK is a well-established market for PRI and many signatories have a sophisticated understanding of RI and ESG issues. A key requirement for the role is a background in financial services and a thorough grasp of the UK financial services market & relevant legislation and practice.

Reporting to the Director of Networks and Global Outreach, this role will be focused on the delivery of a specific strategy as approved by the PRI Board and Executive. The successful candidate will be interacting with asset owners and investors to build and expand relationships throughout the UK signatory and potential signatory base.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Raising awareness about the materiality of ESG issues for investment processes among asset owners, investment managers and service providers

  • Working closely with PRI's internal resource such as Implementation Support, Investor Engagement and Research & Policy; to help tailor services for UK needs.

  • Leading the coordination, meetings and activities of the UK Network and the network working groups and generating Signatory events. Events logistics assistance will be provided from the events team

  • Developing relationships with other organizations in the responsible investment, SRI, institutional investment and sustainability fields to ensure PRI's work is complementary to existing initiatives already active in the UK and Europe

  • Representing PRI in key local conferences and RI related forums (which include public speaking)

You will have significant experience in institutional sales and/or strong relationships within the UK financial services industry.

In addition you will have:

  • Relevant experience in responsible investment, sustainability and environmental, social, governance issues (highly valued but not essential)

  • Practical experience in investment management or investment analysis (highly desirable)

  • Degree educated (or equivalent) in a finance‐related field (finance, economics, business administration, responsible investment, law)

  • Extensive experience interacting with and relating to investment professionals at the C-suite level and in speaking engagements to large audiences

  • Professional maturity: ability to complete tasks without supervision; well organised and reliable
