Eurostar has appointed Peter Bragg as general manager for energy and environment. Bragg has 13 years’ experience in environmental management, corporate responsibility and sustainability. He was previously an environment manager with Network Rail.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed Bridget Jackson as director of corporate sustainability. She will lead the firm’s internal environmental, community and corporate sustainability strategy. Jackson has an MSc in environment and climate change, and brings more than ten years’ experience in international business and strategy consulting.

Nicky Black has joined De Beers as head of corporate citizenship.

Climate Change Capital, the environmental investment manager and advisory group, has set up a new European renewable energy infrastructure asset management team and appointed Stephen Lilley as its head.

Costa Rica climate change negotiator and former Carbon Rating Agency vice-chair Christiana Figueres has been appointed as executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Dr Janet Dwyer has been appointed co-director of the Countryside and Community Research Institute. Dwyer, whose research interests include European and UK policy for sustainable agriculture and rural development, will be working alongside the institute’s director, Prof Nigel Curry, to further develop the CCRI portfolio.

Prof Paul Younger has been appointed director of the Newcastle Institute for Research on Sustainability for three years and Prof Tony Roskilly will take up the role of research director at the institute.

The New York Mercantile Exchange’s environmental products trading platform, Green Exchange, has announced the opening of a London office. Les Male has been appointed as Green Exchange International’s managing director for global product development. In addition, Henrik Hasselknippe has been appointed managing director of global product development for Green Exchange International. He was most recently the global head of carbon analysis at carbon consultancy firm Point Carbon in Oslo, Norway.
